Moonlit Night on the Spring River (2026) – SSA choir + piano quintet

Sets music to a beautiful and evocative poem by Tang dynasty poet Zhang Ruoxu. Commissioned by iSing Silicon Valley in collaboration with Luna Lab@10’s commissioning project. To be premiered October 25th, 2026!

Dawn on a Marketplace (2025) – violin, flute, vibraphone, marimba

Capturing the gradual awakening of marketplaces around the world, evolving from the serenity of pre-dawn to the vibrant bustle of human activity through increasingly lively instrumental textures—inspired by my adventures through marketplaces in China, Morocco, DC, Seattle, and more! Recorded at Stanford University, Oct 2025.

an invisible lineage (2024) – solo piano

A heartfelt dedication to my late piano teacher, with whom I studied for over 14 years. Listen for excitement and nostalgia from embedded classical melodies—sounds from our time together. Premiered by Manhattan School of Music students as a part of Yiming Wu’s In BLOOM concert at Opera America, NYC.

Memoir of Morocco (2023) – brass and percussion

Written for the National Youth Orchestra as a part of the composer apprentice program, premiered by NYO-USA on July 14th, 2023 at Carnegie Hall (video below shows performance at the Meyerson Symphony Center, Dallas).

A refreshing small orchestra piece reflecting on the freedom of summer break. Lots of fun for younger student musicians to learn!

The Golden Coast (2026) – voice and piano

Inspired by George Oppen’s poem California, this piece captures the awe and beauty of California’s coastal landscapes through musical depictions of windswept cliffs, rolling ocean waves, and the distant rumble of the sea. The Golden Coast was premiered at Stanford as part of a collaboration between the musical department and composer Scott Ordway. Recording to be uploaded soon!

Dissonance in Two (2025) – solo flute

Dissonance in Two portrays a playful yet heated dialogue between two contrasting personalities through a solo flute, evolving from clashing musical gestures to a shared understanding. Recorded at Stanford University, Oct 2025.

Inspired by Ted Chiang’s Exhalation and its call on readers to realize life’s impermanence, to remember the beauty of our existence, and to cherish every breath.
